Kindle II - the Electronic Reader from Amazon, came to the market in February 2009. The latest in book reading technology, you can choose and download from a choice of 300,000 books, newspapers and blogs through a no-cost wireless system in less than 60 seconds

Kindle DX - Larger sige: while the Kindle 2 has a 6-inch (measured diagonally) e-ink screen — roughly the size of paperback book — the DX's 9.7-inch screen resembles a page from a typical hardback. DX has 2.5 times more display space than the Kindle 2. More text on a page means more lines and a bigger font. This means that you don't have to turn the page as often. For you? It's easier to read with the Kindle DX. Check out Video in Amazon - Click Here.    Click to check out video in Amazon.com

More importantly the DX was designed not to feel big. Virtually the same thickness as the Kindle 2,  Its keyboard is actually a little smaller than the Kindle 2's, so almost all of the DX's front surface is covered by the screen. It's very comfortable to hold unlike many other electronic readers.

Another nice convenience of Kindle electronic ebook reader: if you have multiple Kindles on a single account--or if you're running Amazon's free Kindle App on your iPhone or iPod Touch--all of your content will be synchronized. For instance if you left reading a book on Page 265 on the Kindle DX, and when you pull it up on the iPhone, it'll resume at Page 265.

When it comes to textbooks, the Kindle does a good job of displaying graphics and charts (Although there's no color--only 16 shades of gray). But this electronic reading device is definitely the best among the many electronic reading devices.

The newspaper/magazine reading experience isn't dramatically changed from the Kindle 2, the earlier generation of electronic book reader.
Kindle Glare Prevention
The DX automatically switches to landscape mode when tilted on its side.

If you move to the advanced "desktop mode - kindle browser experience is much improved.

If weight is a concern, Kindle 2 may be the way to go. The DX electronic reading device maybe too large to be read by holding it on one hand. But ofcourse the larger size comes with it's advantage. Many of the other electronic book readers are much smaller in size.  As for textbook reading, we can see how the Kindle DX would have a distinct advantage over the Kindle

The Kindle's screen is easier to read. Both (Sony and Kindle) backgrounds are grayish, but the Kindle's background appears as a lighter gray (more white in
it) and the letters appear blacker. Therefore the contrast in Kindle is much better. The Sony PRS-700's screen isn't as glare resistant as the Kindle's.

Although Kindle DX catches a little glare from certain angles, the Sony PRS-700 catches a lot more. The PRS-700 has a more minimalist feel to it, with only the essential buttons parked at the bottom of the device. Despite every thing, this electronic ebook reader is definitely the way to go from mClick and order Kindle - an Oprah favoriteany other electronic reading devices.

The clear advantage of the Kindle is its built-in wireless service.  The Kindle wireless system allows one to get content delivered directly to the device anywhere you can get a Sprint cellular data signal in the U.S. There is no additional monthly fee.
